My hustle is being recognised by the fashion industry in London and Lagos!
Having creating three strong self-funded collections I felt the support of British Fashion Council's NEWGEN platform, to show at LFW this September, could help propel Yemzi to the next level. By being one of the chosen fashion businesses I would also gain invaluable mentoring and financial support. News of Yemzi being shortlisted earlier this year was a huge confidence boost as we have been recognised by the fashion establishment (sorry, we couldn't reveal the information in real-time)!
The chosen 2018/19 NEWGEN recipients are; A-COLD-WALL*, Alighieri, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, Halpern, ISOSCELES Lingerie, Kiko Kostadinov, Liam Hodges, Matty Bovan, Nicholas Daley, Paula Knorr, Per Götesson, Phoebe English, Richard Malone, Richard Quinn, Supriya Lele, The Season Hats, WALES BONNER & NEWGEN ONES TO WATCH; Bianca Saunders & Paria Farzaneh.
Although not chosen Yemzi is well on its way to becoming an international British-Nigerian street-luxe fashion brand.
This week we had the exciting news that Yemzi has been selected as an ALARA Emerge finalist! We are now being considered to present an exclusive collection to be funded and stocked in the retail store in Lagos, Nigeria. This comes with mentorship for an internationally acclaimed advisory board and access to technical expertise and facilities.
Wish Yemzi luck!
I visited ALARA in 2015 and I loved everything about it, it has been on my dream stockist list since I heard it was being built.
