I made a decision last Christmas that this year I would be experiencing the festive period in Nigeria. I’m about 1,000km off but I will be enjoying the whole of December and New Year in Ghana!
It has been a few years since I stepped foot in the motherland so as you can imagine I cam’t wait to return. I miss the high-frequency energy of the people, the fresh food and the untapped natural beauty. A hot and adventurous Christmas will be new experience which I’m totally ready for. Nope, I won’t be set in Accra, I will be making stops across the country.
Business or pleasure people ask? Both! If you know me you’ll know that this is my default and permanent setting. Business is at the forefront of my mind and pleasure is usually tied into this or not far away.
#YemziGhanaTakeover is for exploration, print design inspiration, networking, skills sharing and chilling over the Christmas and New Year period.
I will shoot new pieces from the Yemzi collection and have been building a Pinterest mood board for some weeks to help direct this.
Another key objective is to run several Yemzi Design Workshops for young girls across the country. I will certainly include ‘How To Become An Influential Fashion Designer in 10 Easy Steps’ in the programmes.
Get in touch with me via firstname.lastname@example.org to collaborate - if you are a Ghana based school, youth club or community for women. And if you are a creative working as a photographer, model, make-up artist, art director or stylist send me your work.
Super excited to touch down in Ghana this weekend!
